Founder diary: I’m rebuilding my business

Welcome to my first blog! I’m probably procrastinating from another job I had to do, but I decided to write this blog instead LOL.

I’ve been thinking for a while about starting a blog; I feel like it’s easier for me to communicate via text than video.

I built a business for 6 months; now I’m rebuilding it… why? Because it wasn’t completelly aligned with me in the right way.

I started the Growth Club after closing a business of 5 years; it was amazing because things were flowing, I was enjoying creating, clients were flowing, I was leaving my best dreams and healing the experience I had with my previous business.

My goal with the Growth Club was to offer business support, productivity advice and help small business owners working a 9-5 grow their businesses.

It was amazing for a while, but it soon stagnated; something felt off, like I was not tapping into my full potential. Like I was doing something I could do but wasn’t me or my full expertise.

Let me give you some context. I have 10 years of experience in marketing, so naturally all the work I do with my clients is marketing (social media, email, ads…) plus some operational and sales bits. But clearly the universe was telling me something very clearly. You need to focus more on your messaging and your services towards marketing, but the change felt very scary, so I took some timeo ff to think about it, listen to my intuition and look at the data.

Now I’m back! But in case you are in a similar situation, this is what helped me see things more clearly:

  1. Stop posting on social media: I'd rather be quiet than post for the sake of posting. I had to stop working on the business to work on myself and see the situation more clearly.

  2. Look for trends in the work I did. What was I doing most of the time? What is my expertise? What can I provide backup and proof of? What do I feel most confident doing?

  3. Ask for help: I was a bit ashamed of this. I am an expert in marketing but was not able to do marketing for my business… so I decided to ask for help and reach out to some amazing business mentors. Everyone told me you can’t see the label from inside the jar, and that is absolutely right! It’s very normal not to be able to do something you are good at for your business when you are so close to it.

I’m not sure where I’m going with my products and services yet. I know I will have a coaching service and a done for you service for businesses. The rest I’m excited to find out! And will be sharing my journey with you.

Anyway, this is all for today. I hope you enjoyed this post. My goal is for you to feel less alone and learn from my mistakes and lessons in the process. I would love to hear your thoughts, so feel free to message me with your thoughts, questions or leave a comment below. I love reading messages from my girlies!
